In the case of the Peninsula, the Sequel to Train to Busan, which was the most-watched Korean movie before the Parasite was released globally in July, having a massive success by ranking first in the global box office before Tenet.

In the US, it was picked up as an original by OTT Shudder.

Korean movies are different from American Hollywood movies. They also have other characteristics from existing Hong Kong and Chinese films.

Korean films are still less known in the US market, but their popularity is likely to grow similar to K-POP. The data is telling.

To measure the potential profit in the market, NEW, Korea’s top 3 movie investment distributor, plans to launch a channel specialized for Korean films in the US in October on the US’ FAST channel (OTT Linear).

NEW ID is preparing for the day when you can watch many latest Korean movies on various FAST Platforms. The FAST channel, NEW MOVIES has confirmed to launch in 4 platforms by this October.
